I started playing guitar back in 1965, while
in high school, after my amazing discovery that by imitating the
Beatles I could increase my popularity, or at lease help it along,
(which wasn't too bad for a skinny 95 lb. sophomore with big ears
and a bad complexion). I played in several bands throughout my
remaining school years, which planted the seed that has made music
part of my blood. I knew from that point in time I would always play
and perform music in some form or another to complete my soul.
However, my dreams were put on hold in 1970 when I, by using my own
peculiar sense of logic, joined the U.S. Army...yea, be all that you
can be...before I could be drafted, (my number having been drawn in
the lottery - (the only lottery I've ever won). While in the army I
ran across a myriad of individuals who contributed to my love for
ballads and helped in developing a finger pick style of playing
acoustic guitar. During this time I fell in love, (and in awe), with
the styles of John Denver, Jim Croce, and James Taylor, to name a
few.
In 1980, after my extended stint in the service, I formed a band,
with my older brother Terry, called "Rough Country". We played
together for close to four years before eventually choosing
different paths. Over the years I've had the pleasure of playing in
some of the best bands in the tri-state area, but none have come
close to the feel and sounds that are distinctly "Midranger".
Although I'm the last original member of the group, I've found this
particular foursome adds a new dimension with the other band
members, complimenting and enhancing each others' abilities to
enable "Midranger" to reach a unique and unforgettable style.

I started playing rhythm guitar when I was in
the eighth grade and started in my first band when I was a freshman,
playing Rock & Roll until graduating from high school. In the late
seventies I changed to playing bass guitar and switched to playing
gospel music. In 1984 I changed to playing country and rock (Thanks
to Alabama )and have been playing this style of music ever since.
Some of the local bands I have played with are, The Reasons Why,
Country Sunshine,
Travelers, Country Time, Stoney Lonesome, SwitchBack and Flipside. I
would have to say that out of all the bands I have played with over
the years, the Midranger Band has been the most enjoyable band I
have ever played with.

.
I picked up my first guitar at the age of 21, and in the 2 years
that followed, switched from rhythm guitar to Bass guitar, and quit
my day job to play music for a living. 7 years later I took up
playing Lead guitar and it has been my instrument of choice ever
since.
I don’t play music for a living anymore, but through the years, I’ve
been privileged to have worked steady in the venues in and around
the Tri-state area, and to have had the opportunity to work with
lots of great local musicians.
Some highlights of my music career that come to mind are: a few
local television performances (singing original material); being
featured in some local newspaper articles; jamming with Jerry Lee
Lewis; jamming with Johnny Lee; playing music, and recording some
original tunes with Wayne Secrest (Wayne is the Bass player for
Confederate Railroad, back in the day, he worked with a lot of the
local musicians. He and I worked together for about a year in the
Austin Band); and finally playing music with MIDRANGER! Mike Myers
and I started Midranger some years back, and although I later moved
on to do other projects, Mike stayed with it. Now things have come
full circle and I've rejoined Midranger .it's good to be back home!

few anyway):
